Arieh Short

It's been a complete reversal of fortune for Josh Arieh. He spent the better part of two days atop the leaderboard, only to see his chips and his chance at the final table slipping away from him in the post-dinner play of Day 2.

On a flop of {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}, Billy "The Croc" Argyros bet 55,000. Arieh called, then called again on the {6-Clubs} turn when Argyros bet 140,000. The {9-Spades} fell on the river, and Argyros made what looked like a value bet of 100,000. Arieh called a third time.

Argyros opened {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Diamonds}, showing just top pair. Arieh couldn't beat it and mucked his hand. With that pot, Argyros is up to 1.5 million and Arieh is left with a mere 115,000.
