No Flash! No Flash!

Railbirds continue to snap photos of Phil Hellmuth, who is seated right next to a crush of fans. Every few minutes, a flash photo goes off and the staff has to warn them again. No flash photography in the Amazon Room.

Hellmuth vs Hellmuth?

The epic battle has begun at table Green #13, with Phil Hellmuth facing off against none-other-than Phil Hellmuth. Well, sort of.

Steve Diano is using a Phil Hellmuth card protector any time he's in a hand with Phil Hellmuth. The protector has gotten several laughs and although it may not be as epic as two Hellmuths playing heads-up H.O.R.S.E, it's as close as we'll ever come.

Hellmuth Saves

Omaha 8

Preflop, Phil Hellmuth led out and Esther Rossi called from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and Rossi checked-called Phil's bet. The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Rossi fired first and Phil called. The {9-Hearts} fell on the turn and again Phil called a raise by Rossi.

Rossi showed {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} for the nut flush with no low possible and Phil mucked, but not before saying "Queen high flush and nut low draw. Good thing I saved chips."

After the hand, Phil dropped a bit to 395,000.

Penn Hanging In

Phillip Penn Sr., who lost a good amount of his chips right before the last break, just survived an all-in during the Omaha 8 portion. Penn is down to just 75,000 and hanging in, but with the blinds at 5,000/10,000, he'll need to double up soon.
