Ted Lawson Takes One Down

After a raise from under the gun, action folded around to Ted Lawson in the small blind. Lawson, unaware that the under-the-gun player was in the pot, pushed out what he thought was a raise of his own. The big blind folded and Lawson began to muck his hand, flashing it intentionally to the big blind in the process. Moments before releasing it, he realized there was still action. He asked the raiser if he saw his cards. "Sort of," replied the raiser. Lawson had put enough chips out for a legal raise and the under-the-gun player made the call.

The flop came {K-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. Lawson checked and his opponent bet 3,000. Lawson tanked for about four minutes and then moved all in. His opponent folded and Lawson took down the pot. He is now sitting on approximately 25,000 in chips.
