Chris Zapf Doubles Up

After Garrett Beckman raised to 80,000, Chris Zapf moved all in for 220,000 with {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}. Beckman called with {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} but he got no help from the {3-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} board and Zapf doubled to 480,000. Beckman now sits with 1.8 million.

Scary Saab Collects Another Pot

David Saab
David Saab
Justin Scott raised to 90,000 from middle position and David Saab made the call in the big blind.

Saab checked in the dark as the flop came {9-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Scott said, "Check already? Scary!" before checking behind.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and again both check. The river landed the {5-Clubs} and Saab fired out 150,000. Scott stood from his chair before making the call. Saab turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, which was good to take down the pot.

Saab is now up over 2.6 million chips.

Victor Ramdin Doubles Through Suresh Prabhu

Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin
Suresh Prabhu made a button raise to 90,000, Victor Ramdin moved all in from the big blind and Prabhu called.

Ramdin {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts}

Prabhu {5-Clubs} {5-Spades}

The flop was {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, Prabhu's fives still leading, but Ramdin picked up the nut flush draw. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, pairing Ramdin's eight, and then he made his flush on the river when the {9-Hearts} fell. Ramdin doubled up to 1,150,000 while Prabhu was left with 800,000.

Dennis Phillips Chipping Up

Dennis Phillips - Day 5
Dennis Phillips - Day 5
Dennis Phillips raised to 110,000 from middle position and Jeremy Joseph called from the small blind.

The flop came {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} and Joseph check-called a bet of 200,000 from Phillips. The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked. When the river fell the {J-Clubs}, Joseph led out for 500,000 and Phillips went into the tank.

After about five minutes, Phillips finally pushed out the call. Joseph showed {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} but Phillips had him beat with {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

Phillips said, "That was a great bet. I figured I was either good, or making a donkey call." Phillips climbed to just over 5,000,000 chips on the hand while Joseph slipped to about 2,400,000.

Marquis Moving On Up

Craig Marquis
Craig Marquis
Craig Marquis opened with a raise to 80,000 from the button with Jamal Sawaqdeh making the call from the big blind.

Marquis fired bets on the flop and turn, before both players checked the river on a board of {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Marquis revealed {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to take it down as Sawaqdeh flashed {K-Spades}{J-Spades} for a busted flush draw.

Sawaqdeh is now on the short stack while Marquis is up to over 2.2 million.

Prabhu Wins Without a Showdown

Phi Nguyen opened for 90,000 from middle position and Suresh Prabhu called from the cutoff. The flop was {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. Nguyen led out for 130,000 and Prabhu called. The turn was the {K-Hearts}. Nguyen checked, Prabhu bet 100,000 and Nguyen called. The river was the {10-Clubs}. Nguyen checked again, Prabhu bet 200,000 and Nguyen folded. Prabhu won without a showdown and increased his stack to 1,070,000. Nguyen was left with 1,180,000.

Be Careful What You Don't Wish For

Jason Glass moved all in for his last 287,000 with {A-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} and Paul Snead called from the big blind with {4-Clubs} {4-Spades}, a hand that left Glass in bad shape.

The flop came {9-Spades} {5-Hearts} {K-Spades}, the turn the {3-Spades}, so Snead had a flush draw now to go with his pair. But the wheel draw for Glass was now apparent and Snead said, "Don't make it a red deuce!"

And on the river...the {2-Diamonds}.

Glass made his wheel, doubled up to 620,000, and Snead's now down to 1.2 million.
