Short Day for Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth
We mentioned earlier how Phil Hellmuth had, as is natural for the Poker Brat, arrived late. It wasn't long before he'd found a hand with which to gamble.

After Hellmuth put in a minimum raise to 200 in a PLO hand, four players called. The flop came Q-10-3 with two hearts, and Hellmuth bet the pot, getting two callers. The turn was a seven, and Hellmuth again bet the pot, leaving himself just 300 behind. This time just one player, Danny Smith, called.

The river was the {A-Hearts}, completing a possible flush, and the last of Hellmuth's stack went in. Hellmuth showed Q-J-9-3 (all black cards) for two pair and a busted straight draw, while Smith showed J-10-9-4 with two hearts for the rivered flush.
