Channing's Life Not As Bad As He Thinks It Is

F*** his life
F*** his life
Neil Channing has had a moderate-to-losing start -- he's currently on a not-great-but-ok 4,500. He's been having some hassle this week trying to organize a 12-bedroom house in Vegas on short notice -- he's started a new staking venture and would like all his horses in the same stables, so to speak. "I think I've got a house," he said, "I spoke to the lady at 2am and told her to go ahead with it..."

"How much does it cost?" asked a tablemate.

"F*** my life..." was the only response.

Seabeast a Lock to Win This

Jay "Seabeast" Kinkade has had a pretty good start, getting his chips in with {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} against an opponent's {A-?} {J-?} on an {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} flop. Bink! Diamond on the turn for a flush, and a complete lack of re-binking for his opponent doubled up the Seabeast.

"This is the first coinflip I've ever won in this building," he announced happily, after totally failing to score a cash last year. "I'm a lock to win this!"

Liv-in On the Edge

Sigh, now we can't look at her all day
Sigh, now we can't look at her all day
Also a before-the-first-break casualty is Ms Liv Boeree. She found herself the final pusher in a three-way all in confrontation -- and her {A-?} {K-?} was drawing pretty thin when she discovered she was up against pocket queens and pocket kings. A ten-high flop later, and the rest of the day's her own.

Brenes Busto

Brenes
Brenes
Humberto Brenes is an early casualty, getting it in with pocket jacks on the turn of a {9-?} {9-?} {8-?} {9-?} board. His opponent was holding aces though, and without a miracle jack on the river to keep him in, Mr Brenes is now at liberty to play the mixed event later this afternoon, or in fact do anything he pleases for the rest of the day, within certain legal restrictions, of course -- he is busto.

Oh No, Arnaud!

Young French EPT winner and aviator sunglasses enthusiast Arnaud Mattern is down to just 2,500 or so after a disastrous first hand. Holding {10-?} {9-?}, he somehow managed to lead out on an {8-?} {6-?} {3-?} flop and found one caller. Come the {7-?} turn, giving Mattern the nut straight, he overbet the pot and his opponent called. On to the {8-?} river and Mattern bet again. His opponent raised, and Mattern paid off the full house -- his opponent turned over pocket sixes to take the pot.

Fry Doesn't Take the Bait

A fine start for Will Fry, as he managed to lose virtually nothing when his opponent checked down an {A-?} {5-?} {5-?} {A-?} X board to the river -- at which point the opponent bet and Fry passed quickly. His disappointed adversary showed him pocket aces for quads.

More Chips for Moorman

The online legend that is Chris Moorman has upped his stack to 10,200 early doors after his {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs} turned the nuts on an {8-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} board -- his opponent was clearly inclined to pay him off, and it's a good start for the young Brit.
