Dyer Addled

Adam Adler found {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} and got paid off in full by Michael Dyer holding {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}; the chips all went in pre.

Board: {6-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {10-Hearts}

Dyer drops right down to 310,000, while Adler is now up there with 650,000.

Hellmuth Fading Fast

Hellmuth - in hot water
Hellmuth - in hot water
Phil Hellmuth's not having a terribly good time right now.

First Chris Taylor raised to 40,000 from the button, and Hellmuth passed his big blind -- with just 30,000 behind. He claimed {K-?} {8-?}, but it didn't sound as though anyone believed him.

Next hand, Jovan Sudar limped in mid position, only to fold when Hellmuth pushed for 23,000, thus denying him a desperately needed double up, or even putting him out of his misery. Hellmuth showed pocket jacks. Sudar later claimed {K-?} {Q-?}.

Bye Bye Blackman, Have You Any Chips?

It folded around to Steve Goosen who pushed all in from the small blind with {Q-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, but big blind Scott Blackman woke up with {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} and quickly knocked the short stack out.

Board: {10-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts}

Blackman was up to 396,000, an excellent stack. But oh dear...

The very next hand, Chris Taylor raised under the gun and, finding {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} in the small blind, Blackman shoved. Taylor snap-called with {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}, though, and that was pretty much the end of that.

Board: {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Bye bye Blackman, and Taylor is our new chip monster on 880,000.

Aces Crack Tarich

Brent Sheirbon opened for 25,000 only for Warren Woodall to make it 78,000 to go. Mark Tarich moved all in for 120,000 from the cutoff and Sheirbon gave it up, but Woodall called, as you do when you have {A-Hearts} {A-Spades}. Tarich's {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} was in bad shape and the {2-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Clubs} board did nothing for him. He is bust, and Woodall is up to 475,000.

Jovan-a Gamble?

A much-needed double up for Jovan Sudar. He open-shoved for 84,000 from the button with {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} but got absolutely no respect from Jonathan McGowan in the small blind, who called with {A-Hearts} {5-Clubs}. A fairly uneventful {5-Spades} {7-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {3-Spades} {2-Diamonds} board later, and Sudar was in possession of 175,000 in chips while McGowan was down to 335,000.

Terry Stew'd

Terry Stewart, down to just 26,000 or so, called all in from the small blind to a 27,000 raise from Mike Carlson on the button. Big blind Ryan Gentry called, too, but passed when Carlson bet 35,000 on the flop.

Stewart: {8-Hearts} {9-Clubs}
Carlson: {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

Board: {K-Spades} {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
