Good afternoon, although it feels a little like morning here in the Amazon Room, and welcome back for Day 2 of this $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event.

We have 232 runners left with only 171 places paying out, and there is an ambitious plan to play down to final table tonight. We rather doubt we'll get quite as far as that before the 3am cut-off point, but anything can happen.

Interesting folks still in this event include Phil Hellmuth, T.J. Cloutier and Tom McEvoy, and the field is currently being led by late surger Patrick Stemper on an impressive 165,000.

Hot Harry-On-Harry Action

An early double up for Harry Thomas Jr, who got his chips in well ahead with {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs} against Harold Cohen's {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. Looking good...

Flop: {A-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {3-Spades}

"Good hand, man," sighed Thomas, as he got up to leave.

Turn: {J-Spades}

"Woah." He sat back down.

River: {7-Spades}

"Unbelievable," said Thomas, even though it was well within the realms of possibility. Thomas doubled up to 30,000, while Cohen was right down to the felt. Unable to recover, he busted out a hand or two later.

Cutlering Up the Opposition

Not a marvellous start for overnight chip leader Patrick Stemper. He bet out 6,500 on a {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {9-Hearts} flop and got looked up by Matthew Cutler. Stemper tried it on again for 10,500 on the {10-Spades} turn, and then called the push for roughly double that; Stemper could boast {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} but Cutler had flopped the flush with {A-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, and the {A-Spades} on the river couldn't help. Double up for Cutler.

Roy-al Mess

To the surreal strains of the national anthem being played and Phil Ivey standing on the stage, Roy Thung has busted out, smacking his {A-Spades} {9-Clubs} into Feltrin Celso's {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. Not that much excitement on the {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} board, and he's gone.
