All In Insanity

Over the past few minutes there have been three huge hands that have occurred, resulting in big stacks and eliminations.

First, An "The Boss" Tran moved all in on a eight-high flop with pocket jacks, running into the pocket kings of Shawn Glines. Kings held up eliminating Tran and allowing Glines to chip up again, moving to over 400,000.

Next, Matt Brady open shoved 85,000 from the button with {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and was called by Andrew Lichtenberger's {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. The flop kept Brady's pair safe, but runner-runner straight gave Lichtenberger the pot, eliminating Brady.

Finally, Javier Etayo was all in with {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} against the {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} of Jochen Dickinger. The flop brought an ace and Etayo couldn't catch up. Dickinger takes the huge pot and moves into the chip lead with 530,000.

Sousa on the March

Seemed like just another innocuous blind-versus-blind hand. Then it quickly escalated into what was likely the biggest pot of the tourney thus far.

The table folded around to Todd Terry in the small blind who put in a raise, then Philip Sousa responded with a reraise, and soon all 500,000 chips the pair had between them were in the middle. Terry had {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, and Sousa {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

The board came {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}... {J-Clubs}! That jack on the river sent Terry home in 51st place, and Sousa to the top of the leaderboard.

Glines Surves Up a Bad Beat

After a series of preflop raises, Shawn Glines finds himself all in with {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} against the {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} of Andrew Lichtenberger.

The flop came clean, {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} but things got interesting on the turn when the {J-Spades} hit, putting two spades on board.

The river brought the {8-Spades} giving Glines the flush and the pot. He reacted with nothing more than a count down of his chips as Lichtenberger sat silent.

After the hand Glines doubles up to over 240,000 while Lichtenberger drops to 148,000

Ping Out, Merkow on the Move

Torrey Reily raised to 15,000 from late position, then Gregg Merkow reraised to 60,000 from the small blind. Peter Ping pushed all in from the big blind for less than Merkow's bet, and Reily got out of the way.

Ping showed {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Merkow {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The board came {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and Ping is out. Merkow is up to 185,000.

Phil Ivey Doubles to 290,000

Making a Run At Another Bracelet
Making a Run At Another Bracelet
Action folded around to the button who raised to 20,000. Ivey didn't belive his button raise and three bet from the small blind to 60,000. The button then moved Ivey all in. Ivey made the call with {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} running into the pocket kings of his opponent.

The flop came {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} giving Ivey a glimmer of hope, but things looked pretty dim when the {Q-Spades} blanked on the turn.

However, the {A-Hearts} on the river gave Ivey two pair and the pot. He doubles up to 290,000, moving up into the top few spots on the leaderboard.

The community cards came {7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and Keikoan is out in 57th place. Isra now has 220,000.
