Svetlana Gromenkova Eliminated

After action folded to Svetlana Gromenkova on the button she moved all in for her last 76,000. Scott Freeman called from the small blind with {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} facing Svetlana's {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} .

The flop came {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} to give Svetlana two pair. However, the turn brought the {J-Hearts}, giving Freeman the better two pair. The river was a brick and Svetlana Gromenkova is eliminated in 39th place. Freeman moves up to 310,000

With her elimination, the last remaining woman in the field is Kristina Holst.

Top Forty

We're down to 40 players. The chip counts page has been updated recently, but those numbers are changing quickly as stacks of chips continue to move back and forth across the five remaining tables.

At last tally, our chip leaders with 40 left are Shawn Glines, Angel Guillen, Jochen Dickinger, Philip Sousa, and Jeff Tunkel, all with more than 400,000 chips.

But all are hearing the jingling of bracelets behind them, as Phil Ivey has about 300,000 chips.

Guillen Gets Paid Off with Top Set

Angel Guillen

Oktay Altinbas raised from under the gun to 18,000 and got a call from Angel Guillen in the big blind. The flop came {J-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} and Guillen check-called a 20,000 bet from Altinbas. Both players checked the {3-Diamonds} on the turn and when the river brought the {7-Clubs} Guillen laid out a 60,000 bet. Altinbas called him down, but mucked his hand after Guillen showed {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} for top set.

After the hand, Guillen moves up to 540,000 while Oktay Altinbas drops to 100,000.

Kirk Not Done Yet

Ron Kirk, down to 25,500, pushed all in from early position, and it folded back around to Svetlana Gromenkova. She had about 110,000, and decided to make the call, turning over {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Kirk tabled {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

The board came {2-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and Kirk doubled to 58,000. Gromenkova has 85,000 now.

Kirk pushed all in the very next hand, too, but no one wanted to play along that time.
