Benefield Doubles Through Inselberg

Nice Play Sowers

Mike Sowers opened with a raise to 40,000 from the cutoff and action folded to Olivier Busquet in the big blind who announced a raise to 115,000. Sowers thought for only a moment before declaring himself all in for an additional 561,000. Busquet went into the tank.

"I'm going to take my time here..." pondered Busquet as a good five minutes elapsed before he found a fold.

"Nice play," said Busquet. He slips to 675,000 with Sowers now up to 850,000.

Lars Bonding Eliminated in 15th Place ($35,341)

Lars Bonding made a late position raise and got reraised by Brian Lemke on the button. Bonding shoved and Lemke called.

Bonding:

Lemke caught a pair on a flop of {K-Spades}

, but couldn't catch up when the turn and river came {9-Diamonds}

. Bonding left in 15th place with $35,341, while Lemke pushed his stack up to 900,000.

Nicholas Grippo Eliminated in 16th Place ($27,029)

A short stacked Nicholas Grippo pushed all in with {6-Spades}

and got called by Billy Kopp holding {A-Hearts}

Grippo's live cards died a quick death on a flop of {A-Clubs}

when both players caught a flush draw, which completed with the {3-Clubs}

on the turn. The {6-Hearts}

on the river ended Grippo's tournament and sent him home in 16th spot.

Braband Crippled; Eliminated in 17th Place ($27,029)

Danny Illingworth raised to 35,000 from the small blind and Tom Braband made the call from the big blind.

On a flop of {7-Hearts}

, Illingworth led for 64,000 and Braband raised to 200,000. Illingworth shoved for a total of 352,000 and Braband called again.

Illingworth: {10-Spades}

Braband:

When the turn came {6-Hearts}

and the river came {8-Hearts}

, Braband couldn't complete either of his draws and fell to just 100,000. Illingworth climbed to 800,000.

On the next hand, Braband got his remaining stack in the middle with {8-Hearts}

. Again, Braband couldn't improve and he was eliminated in 17th spot.

Illingworth Has Rough Start

The day hasn’t started too well for Danny Illingworth after losing two consecutive hands. In the first, he raised from middle position to 33,000 with Fabian Quoss making the call in the small blind. They checked the {6-Spades}

flop before Quoss led for 61,000 on the {9-Spades}

turn. Illingworth made the call but folded when Quoss fired another 110,000 on the {9-Diamonds}

river.

Soon after Illingworth tried again with another preflop raise which this time was called by both Isaac Baron and Lika Gerasimova. The flop fell {J-Clubs}
