A Set is Good Enough

We caught this hand on the river after Hasan Habib bet 25,000 on a board of {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Steve Verret contemplated the action before making the call. Habib said he didn't have a flush and Verret announced he had a set, tabling {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Habib mucked and saw his stack fall to 142,000. Verret now has 170,000.

Jakattack

Faraz Jaka called a preflop raise out of the small blind and the big blind came along as well to see a three-way flop of {2-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

Action checked around and the free card on the turn was the {2-Clubs}. Jaka led out for 15,000 and found a caller in the big blind as the {7-Spades} fell on the river. Jaka checked, his opponent fired 23,500 and Jaka made the call, tabling {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for top pair for the best hand.

Jaka is up to a very impressive 334,000 chips.

Habib Takes Another Hit

Not long after losing a pot to Steve Verret, Hasan Habib saw his chip stack shrink even more. This time, Habib was involved in a hand with the big blind, who check-raised Habib all in for 95,900 on a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Habib made the call and showed {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for top pair while his opponent held {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for bottom two, which held up when the turn and river brought the {6-Diamonds} and {2-Diamonds}.

Habib is now down to 60,000.

A Good Turn for Kevin Boudreau

Kevin Boudreau knocked a player out of the tournament after they got their stacks in the middle preflop.

Boudreau held {Q-?}{Q-?} while his opponent held {A-?}{K-?} and flopped Broadway with a board of {Q-?} {J-?} {10-?}. Another ten on the turn counterfeited the straight and gave Boudreau the winning full house. After the river, Boudreau stacked up 250,000 in chips.

Baron Busts Another

Isaac Baron called his opponent's all in bet on a flop of {6-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades} and showed {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a set. His opponent held {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and needed help, which didn't come when the board finished with the {4-Diamonds} and {2-Hearts}.

Baron now has 380,000.

Slaubaugh Doubles

Cody Slaubaugh tried his best to burst the bubble and end hand-for-hand play.

He shoved preflop and got called by a player holding {A-?}{J-?}, which was way behind his {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. When the board came {K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, Slaubaugh doubled to 110,000.

Medic and Seidel Go to War

Nenad Medic limped into the pot from middle position and got raised to 11,000 by Erik Seidel in the small blind. Medic reraised to 35,000 and Seidel called, taking us to a flop of {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Seidel led out for 55,000 and Medic shoved all in, forcing Seidel to fold.

Medic now has a stack of 267,000 while Seidel has slipped back to 137,000.
