David Benefield Loses His Stack; Eliminated in 14th place ($35,341)

David Benefield
David Benefield
David Benefield suffered a dramatic reversal of fortune that led to his elimination in 14th place.

After doubling up through David Inselberg before the last break, Benefield gave all of the chips back when he pushed all in with {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} and got called by Inselberg's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

A flop of {2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} put Benefield in the lead, but the {K-Spades} on the turn gave Inselberg Broadway and the hand. The {4-Diamonds} on the river left Benefield with just 1,000.

Benefield's last chip went to the ante and when Thomas Keller open shoved under-the-gun, the rest of the table folded. Keller showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to Benefield's {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

A board of {7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} provided a little help, but the {7-Clubs} on the turn ended Benefield's day. When the {10-Spades} hit the river, Benefield went home in 14th place with $35,341.
