Kessler's Table of Death

Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler
"Of all the tables in the tournament I had to draw this one!" sighed Allen Kessler as he moved into the main tournament area.

It is understandable to feel for Kessler as he is seated alongside Mel Judah, the most established player on the table with 39 WSOP cashes including two bracelets in 7 Card Stud.

Nick Frangos is another and boasts WSOP Circuit victories and over $800,000 in tournament earnings.

Finally, David 'Gunslinger' Bach has cashed nine previous times at the WSOP and has lifetime earnings of over $1,200,000.

With Kessler sitting on just over 7,000, it just may be his chance to mix it up with the best and push his stack skyward.

Terrence Chan Eliminated

Terrence Chan called off all of his chips apart from an ante against his opponent when both boards ran out as follows:

Chan: {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} / {6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} / {8-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / {6-Hearts}

All in on the next hand, Chan would see his tournament end at the hands of Bryan Devonshire when both players boards fell:

Chan: {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} / {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{J-Clubs} / {A-Hearts}
Devonshire: {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} / {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} / {5-Hearts}

With Chan on the rail, Devonshire moves to over 12,000 in chips.

Forrest Falls

Ted Forrest eliminated

Ted Forrest saw most of his chips leave his dwindling short stack when he called a seventh street bet with his board showing:

Forrest: (X-X) / {6-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades} / (X)
Opponent: (X-X) / {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} / (X)

His opponent tabled his down cards of {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs} to take the pot down and leave Forrest with only 500 in chips.

A few hands later Forrest found himself all in with jacks and sixes, only to run into trip aces.

Katja Thater Falls

Thator eliminated in three-player mash
Thator eliminated in three-player mash
Just in front of the blogging desk we quickly jumped up to find three players capping every street.

Katja Thater would be all in on fifth, as was Stacey Vong, with Mark Seif having them both covered.

The cards were tabled as follows:

Thater: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} / {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Vong: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} / {J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Seif: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}

With Thater drawing dead she quickly packed up her bag to exit the tournament, while Seif squeezed out his card hoping to find the remaining three in the deck.

Unfortunately for Seif, he would only manage to find the {6-Spades} as Vong near tripled up to 12,500 as Seif slips to 3,100.

Pescatori Eliminated

After having his table broken, Shawn Sheikhan found some luck when he sent Max Pescatori to the rail on his first hand at the table.

Pescatori made three jacks, but it would be Sheikhan's full house, fives over twos, that would see him take the pot down and climb to 7,000 in chips.
