Wroblewski Soars to 17,000 Before the Break

Anna Wroblewski
Anna Wroblewski
The following hand took place just before the break, after Anna Wroblewski had already taken down two consecutive pots at her table:

Playing the rush, Wroblewski opened with a raise to 400 and action folded around to an opponent in Seat 7 who reraised to 1,400. Wroblewski made the call and the two went heads-up to the {3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop.

Anna checked, and her opponent fired a continuation bet worth 1,000; Anna called.

The {3-Spades} fell on the turn and Anna checked once more, prompting her opponent to fire again -- this time making it 2,000 to go. Anna then put in a raise to 5,100 and her opponent moved all in for a total of 5,900. Anna made the call and the cards were revealed:

Wroblewski: {K-Spades} {2-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}

5th Street brought the {6-Spades} giving Anna a king-high flush to eliminate her opponent and stack up right around 17,000 in chips heading into the break.

Ho Hoses One Away

Maria Ho opened from under the gun to 600 and found two callers from late position and the cutoff.

The flop fell down {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Ho's continuation bet of 1,500 was raised to 4,000 by her late position opponent as the cutoff mucked. Ho went into the tank before making the call and checking the {6-Diamonds} on the turn.

Her opponent slid the last of her 5,000 chips into the middle and Ho made the call.

Ho: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

With Ho well in front, things would remain that way when the {J-Spades} peeled on the river to see Ho eliminate an opponent while chipping up to 33,000 and change.

Musumeci Calls Heads

In tournament poker, races are a regular occurrence and you either win them, or you don't.

Most recently Amanda Musumeci was involved in a preflop raising war to see her all in for her tournament life.

Musumeci: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

In what is the most common race, Musumeci would see a silver quarter flipped, call heads and see George Washington land face up when the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} to see her double to just under 10,000 in chips.

Ho's Dislike For Table

Worst table . . . for who?
Worst table . . . for who?
With another table breaking, we walked over to find Maria Ho seated at the far end of the tournament floor.

"This is the worst table" commented Maria Ho as she mucked another hand.

Ho, who has a healthy 22,100 in chips, is seated next to Sabyl Cohen-Landrum (8,800) and opposite JJ Liu (21,600) and will have to get use to her table as it is unlikely to break tonight.

By the Numbers

Of the 1,060 ladies who started the day, just 410 remain.

The average chip stack is 7,758.

The chip leader is Ulrika Tangstrom from Stockholm, Sweden (30,000).

We are currently 293 places away from the money.

Player Profile: Maureen Feduniak

We saw many ladies take to the felt today - from the amateurs to the the known professionals of Kirsty Gazes, Evelyn Ng, Amanda Baker and Karina Jett.

However there is one in the field that tends to fly under the radar when she sits down to battle it out.

Maureen Feduniak has been on the tournament circuit long before poker became mainstream. Most will remember her from her two WPT final tables back in 2003, but Feduniak's tale is a much longer one.

Feduniak has ten WSOP cashes to her name including a runner-up performance in 2006 in a $1,500 No Limit Holdem event. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Feduniak has accumulated many cashes in multiple tournaments.

With lifetime earnings falling just shy of $500,000, Feduniak and her current 6,100 in chips see her with a chance of adding another cash to her poker CV as well as an exclusive bracelet.

Castello Crumbles

Back to work!
Back to work!
Melissa Castello has recently been eliminated from the tournament.

After sitting on the short-stack for the previous level, Castello finally woke up with {Q-?}{Q-?} and pushed the last of her chips into the middle.

Unfortunately for Castello an opponent woke up with {A-?}{A-?} and Castello failed to improve; now having to head to the rail and back to work for the PokerNews TV team.
