A few hands later, though, down to 75,000 or so, Kim Rios shipped it in and got called by, curiously, Kim Cunningham. Cunningham turned over pocket eights, but Rios was holding pocket jacks, which held up to double her up to 150,000. Cunninghamn meanwhile slipped back down to 160,000.

Brown Cracks Masek's Kings

Lisa Parsons raised to 30,000 form the cutoff, only for Melissa Masek to push for 76,000; she found an unexpected caller in Collette Brown on the small blind, and Parsons called too to see a {9-Diamonds}

flop, which both players checked, and they then proceeded to the {A-Diamonds}

turn. Parsons checked it, but Brown moved all in; a fold from Parsons later, and Brown and Masek flipped their cards.

No help for the unfortunate Masek from the {2-Clubs}

river, and out she went, while Brown moved up to a very comfortable 410,000.

Down to mere pocket change, Day 1 chip leader Tamara Tibbles doubled up with pocket tens against Juliete Bearden's {K-Diamonds}

. This left her still desperately short on just 39,000. A few hands later she got it in with {K-Clubs}

in the small blind and was so short that big blind J.J. Liu decided to give her a spin with {J-Spades}

. Liu proceeded to make a straight, and it's 15th place money for the lady who started the day as massive chip leader.

Cunningham Stays in the Game

Collette Brown raised to 30,000 and then called the push from Kim Cunningham. Cunningham's {A-Diamonds}

was ahead of Brown's {A-Clubs}

, and stayed ahead all the way down the uneventful board to double Cunningham up to 220,000; Brown is still comfortable on 320,000.

Unlucky 13th Place for Liu

J.J. Liu is busto -- she got it in with pocket eights but got called in two spots by Lisa Hamilton holding pocket nines and Donna Houle holding {A-Clubs}

. The board came down {Q-Clubs}

, and with that, we lost Ms Liu and her excellent hat in 13th place.
