Wrong Man to Double Up

Phil Ivey - Ice Cold
Phil Ivey - Ice Cold
Phil Ivey raised to open the pot, and Chris Bjorin three-bet him. Ivey called and saw a flop of {4-Spades} {7-Spades} {K-Hearts}. Bjorin bet out, and Ivey called. Fourth street brought the {J-Diamonds}, and Bjorin fired again. Ivey raised this time, in doing so putting himself all in, and Bjorin put him to the test.

Showdown
Ivey: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} {K-Spades} {10-Hearts}
Bjorin: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts}

Ivey had the top half nearly locked up after catching his third-of-a-kind on fourth street. Needing to dodge only a non-spade ace or five to stay alive and a low card to scoop, Ivey found the {Q-Spades} on the river. He took down the full pot, doubling his way up to 110,000, now even with Bjorin.
