Jesus Scoops

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
Stud-8

Chris Ferguson has scooped a nice pot during a hand of Stud-8. We caught the action on fifth street, with Ferguson firing bets through to the river with his opponent calling him down.

Ferguson: ({A-Spades}{3-Spades}) {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} (X)
Opponent: (X-X) {6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Spades} (X)

Ferguson made the wheel, good for the high and the low, to scoop the pot and move up to around 22,000 chips.

Everything Not O-Kay for Marcel

Marcel not doing so well after that last pot
Marcel not doing so well after that last pot
Stud-8

Marcel Luske: (X-X) {4-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} (X)
Casey Kay: (X-X) {A-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} (X)

Luske completed and Kay called on third street. ON the next street, Luske bet and Kay called. Kay took over the betting on fifth and sixth where Marcel did the calling. Luske also called on the final card.

Kay turned up {6-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} in the hole to make a seven-six low and aces up. Luske could only muster an eight-seven low and dropped all the way down to 5,000 chips. Kay is up to 42,000 now.

The Flying Dutchman Soars Back

After dropping a recent pot and losing much of his stack, Marcel Luske was able to double up up to over 12,000 chips. He was all in on sixth street with two pair, kings and queens, against Chris Tryba. Tryba missed both his flush draw and low draw when he bricked seventh street, doubling Marcel up.

Micon Trying to Climb

Hold'em

Chau Giang raised to 1,600 and then Bryan Micon made the call. The flop came down {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {7-Clubs} and Giang led with a bet after Micon checked. Micon fired in a raise and Giang folded.

The powerhouse that is Bryan Micon has gotten a little oxygen for breathing with 9,600 chips.

Harman Slips

Hold'em

After a middle position limper, Jennifer Harman made a raise from the small blind. The big blind folded and the limper made the call.

The flop fell {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Harman led with a bet. Her opponent raised and she made the call. On the {6-Clubs} turn, Harman checked but then gave up the fight when her opponent fired again. She slips to 13,000 chips.

One Brunson Short, While The Other Rests

Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson
Hold'em

Todd Bruson was looking for a spot to gamble and double up and thought he'd found it on a {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop. Brunson had three-bet preflop and with only small change behind, he fired on the flop, but looked disgusted when his opponent folded. Bruson flashed the {4-Hearts} and will need to hit a few more flops to build up his 6,600 chip stack.

Meanwhile it appears that Doyle Brunson is conserving energy for a long day ahead. He's lowering his cowboy hat and appears to be taking power naps in between hands.

Smith Doing the Rounds

Gavin Smith
Gavin Smith
Despite still being alive in this tournament, Gavin Smith is taking some time to do the rounds of the room and chat to a few buddies. He stopped by the table of Daniel Negreanu which is near to our blogging desk, and we overheard snippets of conversation that involved Smith describing what may have been YouTube videos where "some dude" was demonstrating his athletic prowess by jumping clean into the back of a moving truck, and then jumped clean out of a waist-high pool onto the pool deck. While we doubt that is even possible, we hope Smith isn't thinking of any prop bets!

Negreanu replied that he hadn't seen the videos to which Smith unleashed the pearler, "Man you gotta stop running so deep in tournaments so that you can start watching this kinda shit!!"

Micon Survives Razz

Razz

Bryan Micon has doubled up through Chau Giang in a recent hand of Razz. The short-stacked Micon was all in on third street with the boards running out as follows:

Giang: {6-?}{4-?}{A-?}{8-?}{Q-?}{10-?}-X
Micon: {7-?}{8-?}{2-?}{6-?}{J-?}{5-?}{9-?}

Micon makes an eight-low which is good for the double up to 8,000 chips.
