With a short-stacked Perry Friedman all in before the flop was dealt, Tim Finne and John Juanda didn't slow down in the side pot once they took a look at the board.

Negreanu then sweated his opponent's card who was showing for a ninety-eight low and would need to improve to eliminate the popular pro. He squeezed out the... and Negreanu gave a shout of glee at finding a double up to 15,000 chips. Barry Greenstein wandered over to see what all the commotion was about and with tongue-in-cheek reminded Negreanu of the excessive celebration rule.
Although he has yet to play any events thus far, Gus Hansen has been hanging around the tournament area saying hello to some of his friends and fellow professionals. When he went over to Gavin Smith's table, Smith informed Hansen that Mark Seif was steaming at him.
"What for?" asked Gus.
"Seif bet twenty grand on you, Tom Dwan, and Patrik against Daniel Negreanu." responded Gavin.
Gus laughed and said, "That was a dumb bet, I'm probably only going to play one event, if that."
"I know." Smith confirmed. "And I don't know if Tom and Patrik are going to play any either."
