Nguyen, Chop And Chiu

On the turn of a {9-Spades} {2-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}, Scotty Nguyen bets 1,500 and Chiu raises to 4,500. Nguyen quickly calls. He calls another bet on the {7-Spades} river.

Nguyen shows {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {9-Spades} for nines-full and a live four but Chiu has {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {K-?} {6-?} for aces full and a live six.

Chop it up.

Latecomers

Layne Flack, Daniel Negreanu, Michael Binger, Lex Veldhuis, Bruno Fitoussi, Richard Ashby and Erik Seidel have all joined the tournament.

Hi/Lo Right?

One player has already on his second chance after getting it in on a {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} flop with {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {Q-Spades} against {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades}. The turn {10-Hearts} brought two additional outs but the {7-Hearts} made jacks-full over sevens-full.

Top Set And Being Freerolled On

Australian Sam Khouiss just found himself in the unenviable position of getting his stack in on a {8-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} board with {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} for top set with a live deuce but his opponent held {2-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} for a made 2-5 low and freerolling the flush and straight draws.

The river was the {3-Spades} making a wheel which scooped both pots.

Matusow Makes Big Fold

The board was reading {K-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {J-Clubs} and Mike Matusow's raise of 2,650 had just been dwarfed by his opponent's reraise for an additional 6,700.

Matusow was looking perplexed, constantly rechecking his cards. At that point, Thor Hansen came by to check on Mike, the latter saying, "I might be going home in a sec, buddy!"

Matusow did though, eventually fold and got shown {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} for his trouble.

Matusow said, "I didn't have much, just {10-?} {10-?} {Q-?} {J-?}..."

Early Pot For Lellouche

Decent start for Antony Lellouche, he bet 400 on the {9-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} flop. 1,300 on the {9-Diamonds} turn and the pot on the {2-Hearts} river.

Ted Lawson had been calling him the whole way down but had to recheck his cards on the river, before folding disgruntled.
