Event 27 - $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better

Day 2 Completed

Final Table Set

Today began with 59 players returning from the first day of Event #27. We're now down to our final nine with the elimination of Stewart Yancik.

Scott Clements will be the chip leader going into the final day and looking to capture his third WSOP gold bracelet. Clements' two bracelets have been won in Omaha events, one in pot-limit and one in Omaha hi/lo. It'll be interesting to see if he can claim his third in the category. Roland de Wolfe, Andy Black, and Alex Kravchenko are also at the final table. Here's how things will stack up chip wise.

Seat 1: Anthony Lellouche - 533,000
Seat 2: Roland de Wolfe - 386,000
Seat 3: Alex Kravchenko - 267,000
Seat 4: Andy Black - 182,000
Seat 5: Brett Richey - 238,000
Seat 6: Scott Clements - 801,000
Seat 7: Armando Ruiz II - 192,000
Seat 8: John Racener - 214,000
Seat 9: Robert Campbell - 152,000

The nine remaining players will return tomorrow at 2:00 PM local time to kick off the start of the final table. We'll see you back here then to see who captures the gold bracelet!

Ruiz Survives

On the turn of a {5-Clubs} {9-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} board, Roland de Wolfe check-raises Armando Ruiz all-in and the latter is forced to call.

De Wolfe: {3-Hearts} {3-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}
Ruiz: {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}

De Wolfe just needed to avoid paired board to scoop the pot and end play for the night, but the river was the {A-Diamonds}; Ruiz got the high half and play continues.

Senovio Ramirez III Eliminated in 12th Place ($21,962) Mark Bartlog Eliminated in 11th Place ($21,962)

That is an intense stare...
That is an intense stare...
Double down! 10 players left.

Senovio Ramirez III raised the pot preflop from the cutoff and Bartlog reraised all in behind from the button. Clements called and Ramirez called all in too.

Ramirez: {9-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}
Bartlog: {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}
Clements: {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

The board was {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {5-Hearts} {J-Spades} {5-Spades} and Clements took the lot and increased his chip lead over everyone else.

Kravchenko Doubles Up

Alexander Kravchenko has doubled up to 295,000 after getting it all-in with {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} against Armando Ruiz's {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {3-Hearts} and the Russian's aces up were able to scoop.

Clements Sends Racener Into the Tank

Four cards laid in the middle of the felt as the pot became heated between John Racener and Scott Clements. Racener checked and Clements elected to fire a bet of 75,000 into the {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} board. Racener tanked and then called.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and Racener checked again. Clements bet 70,000 this time. Racener tanked again. Twice he held a bunch of chips in his right hand and motioned them forward towards the pot in the air before pulling them back. Clements didn't say a word, nor did he flinch the tiniest bit.

The entire other table in play was surrounding the action and sweating the decision. Finally, Racener pushed his cards aside and told the dealer he folds. The dealer mucked his hand and Clements took the pot.
