Appleman Triples Up

Mickey Appleman was all in for 14,000 chips against two other players, Gregory Giannokostas and Kevin Petersen. The flop came down {K-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Giannokostas fired a bet of 12,000. Petersen folded and Giannokostas took his bet back before going to a showdown with Mickey.

Showdown
Appleman: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts}
Giannokostas: {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and the river was the {5-Spades}. Appleman held top pair of kings for the high and the nut low to scoop the pot.
