Good Fold For Tran?

Theo Tran in action
Theo Tran in action
With the board reading {7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Theo Tran led out for 600.

His opponent then moved all in for 3,000 to Tran into the tank as he mulled over his decision. After several minutes of deliberation Tran folded his {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} face up.

His opponent flashed the {2-Hearts} when he raked in the pot, but Tran still sits with a better then average 4,900 in chips.

November Nine

Battling hard
Battling hard
With every member of the November Nine making an appearance at this year's series, we have found four in today's field.

Dennis Phillips (2,800) and Ivan Demidov (1,700) are grinding the short stack while Kelly Kim (7,100) and Ylon Schwartz (6,200) are seating fairly comfortably.

Wooka Kim Crippled

Wooka Kim
Wooka Kim
Wooka Kim travels the globe playing poker, and spends most of her time playing the Asian tournament poker circuit.

However, if she is to make a name here in Las Vegas, she'll have a lot of work to do if it's today.

Kim was recently left crippled when her {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} failed to improve against an opponent's {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} when the board ran out {5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to see her left with only 1,250 in chips.

Slim Sent Packing

Amarillo Slim in happier times
Amarillo Slim in happier times
Amarillo Slim has just been eliminated from the tournament.

We are unsure exactly what happened, but we were told by his table that Slim was short and pushed holding {A-?}{Q-?} and lost to an opponent's {K-?}{10-?}.

Dunst Shot Down

With a limp ahead of him, Tony 'Bond18' Dunst bumped the action to 250 with the limper calling.

The flop fell down {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} and Dunst's 525-chip bet was check-called by his opponent.

The turn of the {7-Clubs} went check, check and when the {4-Diamonds} landed on the river Dunst's opponent pushed all in.

Dunst goes into the tank for over two minutes before making the call for his last 900, only to see his opponent roll over {A-?}{Q-?}. However Dunst's {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} could not best his opponents better Ace-high and he headed to the rail.

Michelle Eliminated

Michelle heading home already
Michelle heading home already
With around 600 in the pot Tiffany Michelle lead out for 400 on the flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} from the button and found two callers.

When the {Q-Diamonds} peeled on the turn one of her opponents led out for 925. Michelle moved all in, and once one player had passed, the aggressor made the call.

Michelle: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The river landed the {10-Spades} to see Michelle head to the rail for an early exit.

Just Another Day For JC

Ready for another bracelet!
Ready for another bracelet!
We wondered past JC Tran's table to spot that he had just a little over 9,200 in chips - every player started with 4,500!

With every player still seated we asked a fellow table-mate what had happened.

Tran hit some gut-shot straights and has just been accumulating to amass his double starting stack.

For Tran however, life isn't going to be all easy as seated on his immediate left is John Juanda.
