Bryan Pellegrino Defeats Brock Parker

After a flop of {10-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}, Bryan "PrimordialAA" Pellegrino checked and Brock Parker bet 12,000. Pellegrino check-raised to 44,000 and Parker moved all in for 130,000. Pellegrino made the call.

Brock Parker: {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} (top pair, jack kicker)
Bryan Pellegrino: {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} (flush draw and an over card)

The turn was a blank in the {9-Clubs}, but the river brought the {Q-Spades} to give Pellegrino a pair of queens and the pot.

Pellegrino moves on to the next round, cooling off Brock Parker, who has been on fire the first half of the '09 WSOP.

Romanello vs. Spindler: Spindler Spins Out

Benjamin Spindler raised to 10,000 preflop, and Roberto Romanello came along.

The first three community cards came {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} {9-Clubs}, and Romanello led out with a bet. Spindler raised, Romanello moved all in, and Spindler made the call for his own tournament life.

Showdown
Spindler: {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
Romanello: {4-Hearts} {9-Hearts}

The {4-Spades} on the turn took away Spindler's overcard outs, leaving him with a naked straight draw. The {7-Diamonds} on the river failed to fill in that draw, and Ben Spindler has been shown the door.

Roberto Romanello is a force to be reckoned with heads-up, and he'll be one of the 16 players left when this round ends.

Steve O'Dwyer Defeats Albert Iversen

Steve O'Dwyer raised from the button to 12,000 and Albert Iversen called from the big blind. The flop came {J-Spades} {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs} and Iversen check-called a 30,000 bet from O'Dwyer.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Iversen checked again. O'Dwyer made a large all in shove. Iversen had 130,000 behind and would be at risk if he called the overbet.

He decided to make the call and showed {9-Spades} {2-Spades} . O'Dwyer turned over {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} .

The river bricked out with the {7-Spades} and Albert Iversen was eliminated from the tournament.

Mercier vs. Lamb: Mercier Takes Control

We pick up the action on the river over at Jason Mercier's table. The board read {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {K-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {7-Clubs}, and Mercier checked first to act. Benjamin Lamb fired out 10,000, and Mercier put in a check-raise to 52,500. After some debate, Lamb called.

Mercier tabled {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} for the turned straight. Lamb couldn't beat that, and he mucked his two cards. With that pot, Mercier has pulled ahead of his opponent, sitting with 290,000 to Lamb's 190,000
