Messing A-Round

Mike Caro has just doubled up, and the match continues.

The staff has just told the players that the Round 4 restart will take off on schedule in the Amazon Room (meaning that it should be starting as we speak). The winner of this last match will join the action over there as soon as they finish up.

The blog is going to cover Round 4 now, but we'll update you on the result of this match as soon as it becomes final.

Round Four Draws

The tournament will move over to the Orange (now Blue) section of the Amazon Room for the rest of the day. Here's how the field will match up when the players return.

Round 4 Begins

Players have started their next round of matches. Blinds will start at 1,000/2,000.

Each player starts the match with 240,000 chips.

Shuffle up and deal!

Boosted J Swiftly Dispatches with Dragan Galic

Dragan Galic took a big hit early on in his match with Justin "Boosted J" Smith. Galic's pocket kings were snapped off by Smith's {A-?} {3-?} to take half of his starting stack.

A few hands later, Galic played another big pot. On a flop of {2-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, Galic got the rest of his 110,000 chips into the middle. Smith snapped him with {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}, and the rest of the board would run dry.

With that, Dragan Galic becomes our first elimination of the fourth round. Boosted J is moving on.

Mike Caro Advances!

Mike Caro was all in once again, this time holding {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} against Alexey Popov's {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}. The board ran {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {5-Diamonds} to give Caro the come from behind win and double him up to the chip lead.

On the next hand, it was Popov who was all in with {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. Caro had shoved with {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}, and it held up on a board of {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {7-Spades} {9-Spades} {4-Spades}.

Finally. Finally, Mike Caro has won the last match of the previous round. The staff is allowing him to have a 20-minute break before he gets started on his next match.
