Rousso Comes from Way Behind to Win

Vanessa Rousso - Advances
Vanessa Rousso - Advances
Vanessa Rousso was down to just 11,000 chips in the second level of this round, stuck with a ten-to-one chip disadvantage to Emil Patel. Now, just about 90 minutes later, Rousso has emerged victorious.

On the final hand, Patel was all in before the flop with {A-?} {J-?} to Rousso's {A-?} {Q-?}. The board ran {A-?} {9-?} {6-?} {10-?} {10-?}. Both players made aces up, but Rousso's kicker played to earn her the victory.

After the victory, Rousso was very vocal in support of the blind structure. She repeatedly complimented the staff for the way the tournament was structured, allowing a player to come back from a huge defecit. She used the schedule to her advantage, and it paid her off with a ticket to Day 2.
