Greenstein Goes Spade-Spade for the Win

Action folded around the table to Phil Galfond on the button who opened with a raise to 1,500. Next to act, Barry Greenstein made a pot-sized bet of 5,700 and Galfond made the call.

The flop then came {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{4-?} and Greenstein open-shoved all in for a total of 4,550. Galfond made the call holding {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for trip jacks and Greenstein tabled {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for ace-high.

Greenstein would need a miracle to stay alive, and it was a miracle he got, as the turn and river came {2-Spades}, {K-Spades} giving Barry a pot-clinching spade flush.

After the hand, Greenstein stacked up 29,800 in chips.

"Give Me The Money!" Lisandro at 107,000

Jeffery Lisandro

After a flop of {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} Jeff Lisandro bet enough to put his opponent all in.

His opponent says "I have to call you, I flopped the nuts" and calls. When his hand is flipped over players start murmuring, and he corrects himself saying he has the second nuts. Lisandro didn't even bother to look at his opponent's hand and showed his own {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}

When the river was dealt, players at the table inform Lisandro that he won the pot. In disbelief, he took a closer look at his opponent's hand

{J-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs}

Apparently, his opponent wasn't capable of realizing what "the nuts" actually meant.

Lisandro yells out "give me the money", excited to have taken down the pot. He now has 107,000.

It's Not Easy Being Green

Two hands after doubling through Phil Galfond, Barry Greenstein found himself all in again -- this time against two opponents, holding {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} after the flop had come: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

Holding a pair of jacks and the nut flush draw, Barry found himself up against one opponent's set of jacks, and another's (Jared Blezlick) set of kings.

The turn and river blanked out {9-Clubs}, {6-Spades} and Blezlick's set of kings held up to eliminate Greenstein from the tournament.

Blezlick stacked up just over 70,000 in chips after the hand.

Defending Champion Phil "OMGCLAYAIKEN" Galfond Eliminated

Five players saw a flop of {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Clubs} . Action was checked around to Phil Galfond in the hijack who bet 2,600. The button reraised to 8,300 and action folds back around to Galfond who moved all in for 4,000 more. The button called.

Galfond: {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} (middle set)
Button: {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} (top two pair)

The board filled out {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} giving the button a bigger full house and the pot, eliminating Galfond from the tournament.
