Can anything stem the tide of eliminations? We have to admit that since we're not being paid hourly, we hope not.
David Ulliott joined the ranks of the departed a few minutes ago. He re-raised all in for 70,000 from the button after Sorel Mizzi opened the cutoff to 21,000. Mizzi was the only caller; he showed down . Ulliott opened , a fine hand if he could have connected with the board. He could not. The board came nine-high with no hearts and that was the end of Mr. Ulliott's day.
Thankfully, he didn't get back on the mic to sing any more songs.
We barely got back over to the table in time to catch the next elimination. Clayton Newman was all in preflop with against Rifat Palevic's . Given the stretch vortex of eliminations we find ourselves in, you know that the board rolled out to make two pair for Palevic, aces and queens.
Newman leaves with $18,732 and just like that, we are down to 16 players!
We're having trouble keeping pace with the eliminations. We're not sure what happened other than to say the dam broke about half an hour ago. John Kabbaj is the latest victim caught in the flood.
Kabbaj opened for 28,000 preflop, then called all in after big blind Felipe Ramos reraised to 100,000. Kabbaj showed down against Ramos' , but it was Ramos who flopped the best hand, for trip kings. The board bricked out babies to send Kabbaj to the rail.
Rifat Palevic opened the pot for a 18,000 raise from middle position and Adam Hourani came over the top for all of his chips (48,000) from the small blind. Dan Hindin then came moved all in for 150,000 from the big blind. Palevic got out of his way.
Hourani:
Hindin:
The board came giving Hindin the best hand with aces up.
Hindin - 220,000
Hourani - eliminated in 19th Place
Fabrice Soulier made a final table earlier this week in the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event. He wasn't able to duplicate that feat today.
With the board already showing , Peter Jetten bet 45,000. That was more than Soulier had left; he called all-in and showed . Jetten showed flopped three deuces, , leaving Soulier drawing thin. He bricked the river and made his way out of the Amazon Room, but not before telling us, "I just didn't believe him."
