Ivey Takes a Hit

With the board reading {5-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} Phil Ivey calls an all in of about 13,000 with {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} against a big drawing {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts}. The river is the {Q-Diamonds} making the nut flush for the other player.

Ivey is down to 14,900.

Wolfing Up More Chips

With the board reading {8-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} Roland de Wolfe lead out for a pot bet of 2,250 and found him called by Sandra Naujoks and a third player.

All three checked the {K-Spades} river and de Wolfe's {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} was good enough to win the whole pot as the other two players mucked.

Arieh In Front

Josh Arieh bets 4,000 on a board of {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {4-Spades} and Sammy Farha makes the call to get to see the {6-Hearts} river. Arieh now fires 7,500 and Farha makes the call, only to see the {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {9-Spades} {5-Clubs} of his opponent for the nut straight.

Arieh has 140,000 and looks to be one of the chip leaders at the moment. Farha has a less spectacular but still rather decent 43,000.

Queen Selbst Collects From Bhasin

Vanessa Selbst, during the $5k PLO
Vanessa Selbst, during the $5k PLO
In a reraised pot between Vanessa Selbst and Roy Bhasin, the last of Selbst's chips were in the middle on the flop of {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Selbst tabled {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for over pair and flush draw, but would need to improve against Bhasin's {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the rockets.

"Wow, I didn't think you had that!" quipped a nervous Selbst, but she need not have worried as she improved on both the {9-Spades} turn and {10-Hearts} river to finish with a flush and the pot.

It seems Selbst likes to tangle with the Aussies. She first gained attention for her final table blow-up when Mark Vos won his bracelet in 2006. She then overcame another Aussie in Jamie Pickering in a rather "entertaining" heads-up display for the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha bracelet last year.

Selbst clips another Aussie in Bhasin to double through to 54,000 with Bhasin back to the pack with 87,000.

Chris Ferguson bets 4,500 on a {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {7-Spades} board and Amnon Filippi moves all in on top. Ferguson makes the call and shows a monstrous {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {6-Spades} against Filippi's {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}.

The turn was {K-Hearts} and the river was the {5-Spades} making a flush for Ferguson on the river.

Chris Ferguson has 51,000.
