Use The Schwartz!

May The Schwartz Be With You.
May The Schwartz Be With You.
With one player already all in, Noah Schwartz reraised pot against Jimmy Fricke's bet on a {9-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {J-Clubs} board. Fricke released and Schwartz turned over {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {9-Spades} {K-Diamonds} for a pair with gutshot and nut flush draw. The all in player flipped {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {4-Spades} for a set of fours with flush blockers but the river was the {8-Clubs} and Schwartz is amassing a huge stack of almost 230,000 now.

Sorensen Flushes Mizzi

Sorel Busto
Sorel Busto
After a limp, a raise and a call in front of him, Sorel Mizzi moved all in for an additional 6,500. The limper folded before the initial raiser potted once again from the hijack position adding another 28,600 to the pot. The play was then with Jan Sorensen on the button who deliberated for some time before committing over half his stack to a call from the button.

A huge side pot had developed as the flop fell {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The hijack then casually declared himself all in and Sorensen made a hasty call for his last chips.

Hijack: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}
Mizzi: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Sorensen: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

It was aces versus kings versus ambition, but as is often the way in poker, the cards chose the path most cruel. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and river the {K-Hearts} to give Sorensen a running flush and the huge pot. He climbs to well over 100,000 with Mizzi headed for the rail.

de Wolfe de Gone

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} Roland de Wolfe fired out 8,800 before Jonas Entin made it 35,000. de Wolfe moved all in and Entin made the call.

de Wolfe: {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Entin: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

de Wolfe was in front with his two pair, but the {2-Clubs} and the {K-Clubs} river gave Entin a bigger two pair and the pot to eliminate de Wolfe and move up to a commanding 160,000 chips.

Matusow Wins on TV, Busts in Person

Catching the action on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Mike Matusow moved all in for his last 16,600, sending Mike Watson into the tank.

As Watson was deliberating William Thorson pointed out that Matusow was also on TV, featuring in an episode of Poker After Dark.

"That's when I won!" commented Matusow.

Meanwhile Watson made the call with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for top pair but Matusow showed {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for two pair and a big straight draw.

The turn was the {4-Spades} giving Matusow three pair but the river was the {K-Hearts} to give Watson the hand with kings and eights to eliminate Matusow from the tournament. Watson moves to 83,000 chips.

Nam Le's Aces Somehow Hold

In a raising war between Marcel Luske, Nam Le and a third player got it all in preflop with the Dutchman covering.

Luske: {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {7-Spades}
Le: {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {4-Spades}
Third Player: {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs}

The board came out {8-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {Q-Spades} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} leaving everyone rechecking their cards. Nam Le's aces were still good but even he was unsure saying, "Did I win that?"

McEvoy Eliminates Ferguson

In a reraised pot preflop, Tom McEvoy and Chris Ferguson got all their chips in on a {Q-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} board. Ferguson was leading with {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} but McEvoy's {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {4-Spades} had a double gutshot. The turn was the {3-Hearts} which put McEvoy back in the lead and the river was the {6-Hearts} which improved him to a straight.

McEvoy had Ferguson just covered and one former WSOP champion eliminated another.
