Sorensen Flushes Mizzi

Sorel Busto
Sorel Busto
After a limp, a raise and a call in front of him, Sorel Mizzi moved all in for an additional 6,500. The limper folded before the initial raiser potted once again from the hijack position adding another 28,600 to the pot. The play was then with Jan Sorensen on the button who deliberated for some time before committing over half his stack to a call from the button.

A huge side pot had developed as the flop fell {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The hijack then casually declared himself all in and Sorensen made a hasty call for his last chips.

Hijack: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}
Mizzi: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Sorensen: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

It was aces versus kings versus ambition, but as is often the way in poker, the cards chose the path most cruel. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and river the {K-Hearts} to give Sorensen a running flush and the huge pot. He climbs to well over 100,000 with Mizzi headed for the rail.
