Event 41 - $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Shootout

Day 2 Completed

That's All Folks

Thirty players started today and we're down to our final table of five. It always seems to happen in Shootouts that some tables are over in lightning speed and there's always one that goes on a good bit longer than most. No real surprise though that the hardest line up table with players including Jennifer Harman, Phil Ivey and Barny Boatman went on the longest.

[Removed:197] made sure that none of those players made it through. He will join Andrew Lichtenberger, Danny Yong, Maxim Lykov and Peter Traply in tomorrow's final.

The final table is due to start at 2pm tomorrow, see you there.

Barny Boatman Eliminated in 6th Place ($16,740)

Barny Boatman - 6th Place.
Barny Boatman - 6th Place.
The flop was out and read {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {8-Hearts} before [Removed:198] check raised Boatman's 19,000 bet up to 64,000. Boatman called and then called all in on the {3-Spades} turn.

[Removed:198] -- {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds}
Boatman -- {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}

The river came {10-Spades} to confirm Boatman's exit and seal our final table of five for tomorrow.

Still Got It

Boatman has just won a couple of smallish pots in a row and the second one was quite amusing.

Boatman called a raise preflop to see a {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} flop. Both players checked before Boatman led out on the {9-Diamonds} for 20,000. It was called before the {K-Clubs} fell on the river. Boatman fired for 50,000 now, quite a portion of his stack. [Removed:198] folded but said he really wanted to see Boatman's hand.

Boatman declined but offered to show me so [Removed:198] could read about it here later. [Removed:198] said he thought Boatman had a straight but in fact he held {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts} for a missed straight draw!

Further Ground Lost

Barny Boatman is below 200,000 now. The last hand played out saw Boatman call a preflop raise and then checked all the way down with [Removed:198] until we reached the river. The board was {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} and [Removed:198] bet 20,000 into Boatman who called.

"I have queens" declared [Removed:198].

"What, two of them?" replied Boatman who mucked upon seeing that [Removed:198] truly did have two queens that were good for the pot.

"I missed"

Taking control
Taking control
Boatman raised to 19,000 and [Removed:198] called to see a {7-Hearts} {3-Spades} {A-Spades} flop. [Removed:198] checked-raised Boatman's 20,000 bet up to 55,000. Boatman called and then called a 92,000 bet on the {K-Diamonds} turn. [Removed:198] quietly announced all in when the {2-Diamonds} fell on the river.

"I missed" Said Boatman as he mucked "Straight and flush draw".

That knock put's Boatman down to 220,000 to [Removed:198]'s 680,000.

Play Back Underway

Jesse, our dashing dealer, wished both players luck and dealt the first hand.

Note: Dealer asked me to report him as dashing. Boatman wanted me to report the dealer bats for both sides!
