Kravchenko vs. Taylor, Round 2

Opponent (X)(X) {2-?} {5-?} {3-?} {10-?}
Alex Kravchenko (X)(X){3-?} {9-?} {A-?} {4-?} (X)
Esther Taylor (X)(X) {6-?} {J-?}

Both Alex Kravchenko and Esther Taylor called their opponent's completion on third street. He led again on fourth, Kravchenko making the call and Taylor folded. Kravchenko called another bet on fifth street, then bet out himself on sixth street when he made the low board. Kravchenko fired again on seventh and induced a fold. The hand took him up to 10,200 in chips.

Kravchenko (X)(X){2-?} {10-?} {10-?} {5-?} (X)
Taylor (X)(X) {8-?} {8-?} {Q-?} {10-?} (X)

Only a few hands later, the Russian was back in action, completing the bet on third street and getting a call from Esther Taylor. Kravchenko led on fourth street and was called, then bet out on fifth when Taylor checked to him. Taylor made the call, then check-called two more bets on sixth and seventh streets.

Kravchenko showed T-5-3-2-A and it was good, earning him the pot and taking his stack up to 11,800.

Wong Out-Pips the G-Man

8-5! Ship it!
8-5! Ship it!
Steve Wong (X)(X) {A-?} {Q-?} {9-?} {5-?} (X)
Opponent (X)(X) {2-?} {9-?} {2-?}
Tony G (X)(X) {A-?} {7-?} {A-?} {2-?} (X)

We picked this one up on fifth street, Steve Wong leading out with a bet. His first opponent folded and Tony G made the call. Wong led out again on sixth, Tony G raised and Wong called. Wong check-called one more bet on seventh street.

Tony G turned up {8-?} {6-?} {9-?} in the hole for 9-8-7-2-A, but Wong showed {8-?} {4-?} {3-?} for 8-5-4-3-A to take down the pot.

Wong= 5,400
Tony G= 7,100

Bricks Rain on Brown

Grrrr... not another brick!
Grrrr... not another brick!
Dennis Phillips (X)(X) {7-?} {4-?} {3-?} {6-?}
Chad Brown (X)(X) {3-?} {8-?} {K-?} {10-?}
Opponent (X)(X) {2-?} {Q-?}

Dennis Phillips completed on third street and got two callers in Chad Brown and one other opponent. Phillips led out on fourth street with the low board, Brown raised, the third player folded and Phillips called. Phillips continued betting on fifth street and Brown peeled off one more card despite bricking with a king. He hit a ten on sixth street and folded to Phillips' bet.

Ville on the Rise

Jose Luis Velador (X)(X) {4-?} {8-?} {K-?} {J-?} (X)
Ville Wahlbeck (X)(X){7-?} {A-?} {10-?} {7-?} (X)
David Behr (X)(X) {8-?} {8-?}
Opponent (X)(X){3-?} {Q-?}

Jose Luis Velador called the bring-in, Ville Wahlbeck completed, David Behr called, and a fourth opponent called. On fourth street Wahlbeck led out and Velador was the sole caller. He led again on fifth and was called, then bet out again on sixth when Velador made the low board and checked to him. Velador made the call and both players checked seventh street.

Wahlbeck flipped over {3-?} {5-?} {5-?} in the hole for a T-7-5-3-A low. Velador mucked and the Finnish sensation took the pot. He's up to 9,600 in chips.

End of the Line for F-Train

Brick, brick, brick...
Brick, brick, brick...
It's a brutal game, kids. PokerNews blogger David "F-Train" Behr (who finished in 33rd place in this event last year) was just eliminated after a nausea-inducing four hours of play. After seeing a number of excellent starting hands brick out, he made his last stand with {A-?} {5-?} {7-?} to start and made a 9-8-7-5-A low, but his opponent made a six-low to bounce him from the tournament.

Topakas Doubles

Topakas doubling up
Topakas doubling up
Our PokerNews reporter wondered over to find Steve Topakas involved in a hand with two other opponents.

One folded on fifth street and Topakas; after making it two bets on fifth, was all in on sixth street for his last 275.

Topakas: {5-?}{6-?} / {10-?}{2-?}{8-?}{7-?}
Opponent: {K-?}{7-?} / {A-?}{10-?}{6-?}{4-?}

With Topakas having a made eight-seven low an his opponent drawing to a better seven-six low, Topakas would remain in the tournament when he was dealt the {J-?} on the seventh to his opponent's {Q-?}.

As Topakas raked in the pot to move to 2,950, he continued his conversation with table mate 'Miami' John Cernuto about everything but Razz!

Cunningham Folds The Nuts?

Razz-a-menting with Allen Cunningham
Razz-a-menting with Allen Cunningham
We caught the action on fourth street with Allen Cunningham calling a bet from his opponent.

When fifth street fell, Cunningham called another bet from his opponent, before he proceeded to check-call down until showdown.

Cunningham: (X-X) / {5-?}{2-?}{9-?}{A-?} / (X)
Opponent: (X-X) / {3-?}{A-?}{2-?}{J-?} / (X)

His opponent rolled his {6-?}{4-?} / {9-?} for six-five low and Cunningham mucked as he slipped to 4,700 in chips.

"What did you have Allen?" quipped his opponent, before following up with, "what did you have?"

"I had a little better than that" responded Cunningham with a sarcastic expression.
