Kelly Kim KO'd

Kelly Kim got all 2,500 of his chips in the middle preflop against two opponents. One of those opponents led the betting on all streets and was called by the other, {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {7-Hearts}. The betting lead showed down {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} for the nut flush; his opponent showed down {A-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} for the nut low.

That left Kim's {A-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {3-Spades} {6-Hearts} without a chip or a chair when the music stopped.

Here Comes Vanessa

Vanessa Selbst was one of those players that started the day with fewer than ten big bets. She's up to many more than that after scooping a pot against one opponent.

Selbst raised and then called a reraise before a flop of {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. She check-called a bet on the flop, then check-raised the {3-Hearts} turn. Her opponent called and called one last bet on the {9-Spades} river. Selbst showed down {A-Spades} {2-Spades} {3-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, trip threes and the nut low. It was a scooper to push her count to 33,000.

Why Was Six Afraid of Seven?

It was a three-way pot on Table 86 and Todd Brunson was at the center of it. The big blind led out on a flop of {9-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} and was called by Brunson and one other player. When the turn fell {Q-Clubs}, the big blind checked.

Brunson fired out a bet himself that was raised by the player behind him. Brunson was the only caller to a {K-Diamonds} river. He checked and then raised a bet. His opponent called, saying "I have a straight." He opened {A-Spades} {2-Spades} {10-Spades} {7-Spades}.

Brunson showed {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for a turned set of queens. He was confused; the dealer was confused; and Brunson's opponent was waiting for the pot. As the dealer double-checked the hand, he told Brunson's opponent, "You have nothing."

"I have a straight!" the player protested. "Five, six, seven, nine... oh wait."

The pot was pushed to Brunson, increasing his count to 29,500.

Chip Him Up!

ChipMeUp.com founder Rayan Nathan received a much-needed infusion of chips by scooping a three-way pot. He tabled {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {10-Spades} {4-Clubs} at showdown on a {2-Spades} {2-Spades} {Q-Spades} {3-Spades} {6-Clubs} board for a spade flush. With no qualifying low in either of his two opponents' hands, Nathan got everything to climb to 25,000.
