Good Fold for Vedes

Tommy Vedes opened to 70,000 from the button and Lee Watkinson potted to 240,000 from the small blind.

Vedes went into the tank before folding his {K-?}{K-?} face up.

"Show me two aces," asked Vedes to Watkinson as he started raking in the pot.

Watkinson obliged, and flashed his {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} to the appreciation of Vedes.

Cantu Quartered

Tommy Vedes limped in only to have Brandon Cantu pot the action to 80,000. With it folding round to Vedes, he reraised all in and Cantu made the call.

Vedes: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Cantu: {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} to see Vedes scoop the high with a pair of aces as Cantu was quartered when they chopped the low.

Cantu Rivers Chop

Brandon Cantu opened to 50,000, only to have Mathieu Jacqmin bump it to a further 130,000 on top.

Cantu asked for a count, and once notified that Jacqmin had a further 325,000 behind, he made the call.

The flop fell down {K-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Cantu bet out 50,000 before Jacqmin pushed all in. Cantu called and the cards were tabled.

Cantu: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Jacqmin: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}

When the {3-Clubs} landed on the turn, it counterfeited Cantu's low draw to leave him drawing to only a queen or three to scoop the high.

The {Q-Diamonds} peeled on the river to see the pot chopped up as Cantu rivered a set to stay in contention. Jacqmin headed to his rail for support as he saw his near lock on the hand cut up on the river.

Jacqmin and Vedes Chop It Up

Mathieu Jacqmin raised to 60,000 from the button before Tommy Vedes reraised pot. Jacqmin moved all in and Vedes made the call.

Jacqmin: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Vedes: {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to see the pot chopped up between them both.

Jelinek Wins Blind Battle

Steve Jelinek completed the small blind before Brandon Cantu made it an additional 60,000. Jelinek called and the board of {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} was checked down.

Jelinek tabled his {A-?}{Q-?}{5-?}{4-?} to take down the pot as Cantu mucked his hand.

Jacqmin Straightens Vedes

In yet another limped pot, three players checked it down to the river to see a board reading {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Tommy Vedes bet out 38,000, Lee Watkinson folded, but Mathieu Jacqmin made the call and tabled his {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for the nut straight as Vedes mucked.

Small One For Jelinek

Steve Jelinek limped in to see a flop of {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} along with Brandon Cantu and Ted Weinstock.

All three players checked, and when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn they checked again.

However, Jelinek took some control of the pot by firing 60,000 at it on the river of the {5-Hearts} to prompt folds from both players.

Aggressive Lee

Twice so far this level, Lee Watkinson has re-potted a late position raiser to see his stack grow to 550,000.

Easily the most experienced player on the table with a record of fifteen WSOP cashes and one bracelet; Watkinson will be looking to draw his years on the felt to try and pick up his second gold bracelet.

Weinstock Clips Jacqmin

It took a while to see our first flop, but after the action folded round to Ted Weinstock on the button, he opened to 60,000 with Mathieu Jacqmin calling from the small blind.

The flop fell down {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Jacqmin checked-folded following the 115,000-chip bet from Weinstock.
