Getzwiller Crippled

All the money went in preflop with Tommy Vedes holding {Q-Hearts}

to Sean Getzwiller's {A-Hearts}

.

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}

to see Vedes double through to 148,000 as Getzwiller was left crippled with just 17,000.

Getzwiller managed to double two hands later when he was all in preflop and flopped trip fours against Brandon Cantu.

Jiaqi Xu Eliminated in 12th Place ($15,664)

Jiaqi Xu opened the pot to 35,000 before Ronnie Hofman reraised pot to effectively put Xu all in. Xu called off his remaining 19,000 and the cards were tabled.

and Xu hit the rail in 12th place for a $15,664 boost to his pocket.

Phil Hellmuth Eliminated in 14th Place ($11,347)

With everyone tense on the rail with anticipation at Phil Hellmuth pondering a decision, he eventually chose to move all in for his last 22,000.

Jacqmin Mathieu made the call on the button, as did Lee Watkinson from the big blind.

The flop of {5-Spades}

was checked through, but when the {A-Hearts}

fell on the turn Mathieu bet out 40,000 to prompt a fold from Watkinson.

Hellmuth: {A-Spades}

Mathieu:

"A heart would be nice" asked Hellmuth, but when the {J-Spades}

dropped on the turn he stood up staring at the board and commented, "he called a raise with deuce, three, f**king four" and mucked his cards.

Hellmuth walked around the table, shook hands with the players before saying one last thing as he headed to collect his payout; "nice hand buddy!"

Jacqmin Mathieu limped in, as did Aaron Sias, before Jason Loehde pushed his last 37,000 into the middle. The blinds passed and both players made the call.

was checked down to the river to see a bet of 40,000 from Mathieu and a quick muck from Sias.

Mathieu tabled his {A-Spades}

for a wheel, and Loehde mucked his {A-Diamonds}

as he exited the tournament in 15th place for a payday of $11,347.

Phil Hellmuth opened to 24,000 from under the gun, and as it folded round to Steve Jelinek in the big blind he raised the action to 76,000.

Instantly Phil Hellmuth stood up, threw his hands in the air, did a lap round the table and sat back down.

"All day" he uttered before eventually folding one card at a time; {A-Clubs}

As the fifty-plus onlookers watched the commotion, Jelinek rolled over his {A-Diamonds}

.

"Unbelievable!" screamed Hellmuth as he stood up yet again.

"Can you believe this?" he directed towards me as I stood only feet from the table. "Everytime I get Ace, Deuce, Five, they wake up with Aces. I've had to lay down Ace, Deuce, Queen, Jack I don't know how many times today . . . this is ridiculous" Hellmuth continued.

For all you Hellmuth lovers and haters, the most successful WSOP player of all time still remains one of the short stacks with 37,000 in chips.
