Huynh Spikes His Card

We pick up the action on a flop showing {6-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. It was heads up in a raised pot, and the hijack seat put out a bet of 13,000. Phong Huynh made the call, and the turn card brought the {7-Clubs}. The hijack now moved all in for a total of 44,300. Huynh went deep into the tank before finally calling with {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}. It wasn't a great call; his opponent tabled the leading {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. To Huynh's delight though, the {9-Clubs} peeled off on the river to fill in his come-from-behind straight and send his opponent to the exit.

Huynh is up to about 170,000 now.

Alex Jacob Sends A Player Home

Alex Jacob opened the pot for a raise and the button moved all in for just a few thousand more. Action folded back around to Jacob who makes a resevered call with {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} . The button showed {9-Clubs} {9-Spades} .

The board came {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} eliminating the button from the tournament.

Jacks on the Bubble

We actually lost three players on the last hand before the money.

Chris Cooke was one of those unfortunate bubble boys. Jeffrey Vanchiro opened with a raise from the button, and Cooke was in the unenviable position of looking down at {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} from the small blind. He moved all in for about 21,000, and Vanchiro called him down with {A-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}.

The first four cards were safe, but the {A-Spades} on the river was all she wrote for Cooke.

Those three players including Cooke were the final three non-cash finishers.

Burst!

The floor man asked the entire field to be completely silent while he went over some rules, and the room surprisingly fell hush. The only problem is that the man with the mic started the next sentence with, "Congratulations, you are now all in the money," drawing a huge ovation from the remaining players.

He's trying to make some announcements about getting paid out now, but it's significantly more difficult with the buzz at the tables. Finally, he did manage to get through the whole 'no electronics' spiel, and we're off into the money.

Bubble Time

We're on the bubble, and the tournament is being dealt hand-for-hand until we hit the money. It looks like we're still 10 players from that mark though, so this could take a while.
