Somerville Busts Gerasimov Near Bubble

Jason Somerville moves way up the leaderboard
Jason Somerville moves way up the leaderboard
We're just a couple spots off the money and a big hand just went down between Jason "JCarver" Somerville and Kirill Gerasimov.

From the cutoff seat, Somerville raised to 5,500. Gerasimov fought back from the small blind with a reraise to 14,500, which Somerville called. The two players saw the flop come down {10-Spades} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Gerasimov checked first and Somerville checked behind.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Gerasimov checked once again to his counterpart in position. Somerville fired a bet of 19,500 after taking his time making a decision. Gerasimov then went into the tank. Eventually, he fired all in, making the total bet 75,500. Now it was Somerville's turn to go into the tank. When he emerged, his decision was to make the call.

Showdown
Somerville: {Q-Spades} {10-Clubs}
Gerasimov: {J-Spades} {6-Diamonds}

The dealer burned one last time and then dealt the river card... the {10-Diamonds} hit the felt and Somerville breathed a big sigh of relief. Gerasimov was sent to the rail just short of the money while Somerville bumped himself way up to 270,000 chips.
