Negreanu's Here

Daniel Negreanu is on dinner break in the Stud Hi/Lo event, so he's decided to double dip. Kid Poker has just taken his seat in our field, followed through the room by the lone camera crew who is in Brasilia shooting some footage today.

Seventy-Sixers

We caught up a little late on this hand, just as the second draw was being dealt out. It was three-handed with notables, and Nam Le was the first to bet out. Robert Williamson called, and Gioi Luong came along as well.

On the final draw, Le stood pat while the other two men each drew a card. Gioi Luong was the one who bet out this time, and Williamson came over the top with two bets. Le folded and Luong called, tabling 7-6-5-4-2. Williamson had a seventy-six too, but his 7-6-5-3-2 was the better one, winning him the pot.

Ladies Night

Of the 250 players in the field so far, we have just six women. Of those, we're familiar with half: Tracey Nguyen, Carol Kline, and Shannon Elizabeth. The other three will be trying to put themselves on our radar as the day progresses.

Shannon Elizabeth Goes Out

Just before the break, we've lost the will to live. Rather, Shannon Elizabeth.

She was in the small blind against two opponents, and all three of them drew two cards on their first go-round. Elizabeth was the bettor with both opponents calling.

On the second draw, she took one card, one less than the other two players. She bet again, one opponent folded, and the third player raised to 400. Elizabeth went all in for 525, still needing to draw one card on the end. Her opponent stood pat and showed down a seventy-six low, while Shannon could only pull a ten-seven on the last draw.

With that, the actress-turned-draw-poker-player has been whisked away all too soon, cast out into the sea of humanity outside the Brasilia Room.
