Chopping Up Broadway

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {10-Hearts}. Alex Fitzgerald bet 1,700 after one player checked. The player on the button raised to 5,000 and the first player folded. Fitzgerald reraised to 12,000 and the button called.

The turn brought the {K-Clubs} and Fitzgerald bet 12,000. His opponent on the button moved all in and Fitzgerald called. Fitzgerald held {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades} for a Broadway straight. His opponent held {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} for a Broadway straight as well.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and the two players chopped the pot.

"Amazing you have an ace there, too!" commented Fitzgerald.

Singer-ing a Different Tune

David Singer was pretty steamed late in Level 1. He seems to be in a better mood now. He raised to 550 preflop and was called by big blind Kevin Saul. Both players checked to the turn, {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} {K-Spades} {6-Hearts}, where Saul led out for 825. Singer called.

When the river fell {8-Spades}, both players quickly checked. Singer opened unimproved {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, which was enough to win the pot. He's up to 47,500.

Little Man, Big Chips

Mike "Little Man" Sica raised to 550 first in from the button. The small blind folded, but the big blind came along to the flop.

It brought {Q-Clubs} {10-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. After a check, Sica continued out with 875 more chips. Not missing a beat, his opponent check-raised to 2,400, and Sica smooth-called.

The turn was the {K-Clubs}, and both men checked. On the river, the {2-Clubs} drew a leading bet from the big blind. He pushed out 5,000 chips, and Sica instantly called as he stood up from his chair so that he could be eye-level with his opponent. The big blind showed {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}, and Sica turned over the winning {3-Hearts} {3-Clubs}.

With his set of threes, Sica has upped his count to 50,000.

Jungblut's Opponent Needs A Bigger House

A six-way limped pot at Brett Jungblut's table improbably checked through on a flop of {3-Hearts} {k-Clubs} {7-Spades}. One player bet 600 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and was called by a second player and by Jungblut, in position. When the river paired the board {7-Diamonds}, the turn aggressor bet another 1,800. He was called before Jungblut raised to 6,300. The turn aggressor was the only player to call that raise, turning up a small full house, {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. Jungblut out-turned that hand with {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} by making a bigger full house.

Jungblut is up to 47,000.

Abe Mosseri Can Fold Two Pair

4,900 chips were already in the pot on the river, the board reading {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. The big blind led out for 2,400, Abe Mosseri raised to 5,000 and the big blind came back over the top for 10,000. After a bit of a tank, Mosseri folded {K-?} {10-?} face-up, conceding the pot to the big blind.

Mosseri is down to 28,200 in chips.

Hachem Above Starting Stack

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem
It took a while, but Joe Hachem finally seems to have found his sea legs. Sitting in position, he called a preflop raise to 650. Hachem called another 950 on the {9-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} flop and another 2,200 when the {3-Diamonds} hit the turn. At the river {4-Diamonds} Hachem's opponent finally slowed down and checked. Hachem bet 6,200 and was rewarded with a call. He opened {4-Spades} {5-Spades}, having rivered trip fours to crack his opponent's {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

Hachem is up to 38,000.

Graham Flops the Joint, Loses Hand

We caught up a little late to this hand, but here's what we know. Working against a single opponent, Matt Graham got tangled up in what would become a sizable pot. The flop showed {10-Spades} {8-Clubs} {7-Clubs}, and the betting action put about 26,000 chips in the pot going to fourth street.

Catching up live now, the turn card came the {7-Diamonds}, and both players checked. On the river, the {5-Diamonds} drew a bet from the unknown player. He fired 12,000 at the pot, sending Graham into the tank. After a long delay, Graham made the call with {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. It was no good though; his opponent showed down {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} for the winning eights full. Despite that monster flop, Matt Graham couldn't hold, and his stack has plummeted to 10,400.

Porter Slipping

Under the gun, a player raised to 500 and both blinds called. Rep Porter was in the big blind. The flop came down {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. Action checked to the preflop raiser and he bet 1,000. Only Porter came along for the ride.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Porter checked. His opponent fired 1,500 and Porter called again.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Porter check-called another bet, this time for 2,500. His opponent tabled {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} for a full house and Porter mucked his hand, dropping to 16,500 in the process.
