Nordenstam Looking Up

Cecilia Nordenstam
Cecilia Nordenstam
After the cutoff, button, and small blind limped in, Cecilia Nordenstam checked from the big blind. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. It checked around to the button who bet 1,225.

The small blind folded, then Nordenstam raised to 3,500. The cutoff folded, and the button considered a moment before folding as well.

Nordenstam is up to 52,000.

Mitchell On the Move

Will Mitchell
Will Mitchell
Will Mitchell raised before the flop, got reraised, then called. The flop came ten-high, Mitchell bet 3,000, his opponent raised to 10,000, Mitchell shoved all in for about twice that, and his opponent let it go.

Mitchell showed his pocket tens as he dragged the pot. He's back up to 35,000 now.

Dag-gered Down

Dag Martin Mikkelsen, who has been amongst the chip leaders in previous years is out according to his twitter account. He had {A-?} {K-?} and made a king high flush but ran into the ace-high flush.

Jump Off a Cliff

Doubling up an opponent represented a mere drop in the chip ocean for Cliff Josephy -- he's still on a very healthy 91,000.

Josephy: raised his small blind with {10-Spades} {8-Spades} and then called the all in
Mr. Big Blind: reraised all in for 8,325 with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: a hair-raising {9-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {5-Spades}

Hamrick Hammed

With about 18,000 in the pot and a board reading {K-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} , 2008 November Nine bubble boy Dean Hamrick led out for 10,100. His opponent in the seven seat went into the tank for a good three minutes before finally making the call.

"You got it" said Hamrick as he threw his cards in. The table was pretty shocked when his opponent tabled {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} . If that wasn't bad enough, another player who wasn't in the hand asked to see Hamrick's hand. The dealer obliged and showed the {10-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} .

Hamrick is down to just 10,200.

Brenes Gives Medic a Free Ride

Four limpers including Nenad Medic and Humberto Brenes took a flop of {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and the action checked around.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and again nothing exciting as the four players checked.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and play checked to Medic who fired 1,150. Brenes was the lone caller in the small blind, but he'd allowed Medic catch up with his {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} as Brenes flashed the {A-Hearts} and mucked.

Both players are still short with around 15,000 chips.
