The G Takes a Hit

Tony G.
Tony G.
We caught the action on the river with more than 50,000 already in the pot on a board of {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

A player in late position bet 10,650 and Tony G made the call from the button. When his opponent tabled {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} for the nut house, Tony G mucked his hand and was left with 30,000 in chips.

Bolden Doubles Up

On the flop of {9-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades}, Gary Bolden was all in for 13,350 and his opponent called. Bolden held pocket queens and his opponent just top-top with {A-Hearts} {9-Spades}. The turn was the {K-Spades} and the river the {4-Diamonds} to give ex-Arena football player the double up to 43,000.

Cole Moves Forward

We picked up the action on the turn with a board of {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Action checked to Corwin Cole who bet 7,400. His opponent thought for a few seconds before calling and we went to the river, which brought the {7-Hearts}.

Action again checked to Cole, who bet 10,600. His opponent again thought for a short time before calling and mucking his hand when Cole showed {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Cole now has 67,000.

Elezra Trying to Pick a Fight

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra
Kili Madrid raised before the flop, and an unknown player and Eli Elezra made the call from the blinds. Three handed then, the flop came out {A-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}, and the action checked around.

The turn card came the {2-Hearts}. After a check from the small blind, Elezra took a 4,000-chip stab at the pot. Madrid quickly called, and the small blind ducked out with the same speed.

On the river, the {8-Hearts} drew a check from Elezra. Madrid flicked a single orange chip worth 5,000 into the pot, and Elezra raised his eyebrows with a sly glance across the felt. After some more debate from his opponent, Madrid stood from his chair and slid his cards over near the muck with his hand still covering them. After another moment, Elezra shot out of his chair and tried to grab the cards, pushing Madrid's hand toward the dead pile of cards. Everyone got a good chuckle out of Elezra trying to kill Madrid's hand, and he instead killed his own, returning his cards to the dealer and sending the pot over to the former boxer with the big biceps.

DeMichele Slides Even More

Michael DeMichele has been on a very slippery slope all day today. Just recently, he dropped below 10,000 chips after this hand.

On the flop of {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {6-Spades}, DeMichele called a bet of 2,000 from his opponent. The turn brought the {5-Spades} and both players checked. The river brought the {K-Clubs} and DeMichele's opponent fired out a bet of 5,000. DeMichele mucked his hand and dropped to 7,050 chips.

Lawson Gives Up the Hand and Some Chips

Ted Lawson is very intense.
Ted Lawson is very intense.
Ted Lawson raised to 1,100 from early position and the big blind played along. A flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} brought a bet of 3,250 from the big blind and a raise to 11,000 from Lawson.

After the call, the turn brought the {6-Hearts} and a bet of 12,000 from the big blind. Lawson tanked for a few minutes before finally releasing his hand. His opponent showed {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the straight and the straight flush draw.

Lawson is back at 67,500.

Eights Cost Maier a Bundle

We passed by Orange 65 -- Lana Maier's table -- to see that 35,000 chips were in the pot with the board showing {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {5-Hearts}. Maier aggressively threw 30,000 chips into the middle. Her lone opponent was on the button. He calmly surveyed his options for thirty seconds before moving all in.

"Count please," Maier asked the dealer. The dealer counted down 45,850, only 15,850 back to Maier. With 110,000 chips in the pot, Maier made the call and saw the bad news.

Maier: {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}
Button: {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}

"Gimme an eight! Gimme an eight!" Maier begged the dealer. He did not comply, instead burning and turning a river card of {A-Clubs}. After paying off her opponent, Maier is down to 25,000.
