Owen Crowe Near the Top of the Leaderboard

Ocrowe at the Final Table of Event 51
Ocrowe at the Final Table of Event 51
Note to self: Find out what Owen Crowe eats for dinner...

Because whatever it was, it is working overtime for him at the table. Up over 330,000 in the first 45 minutes since the dinner break, Crowe just busted another opponent.

After a flop of {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} Owen Crowe moved all in and his opponent called for his tournament life with his last 150,000.

Crowe: {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Opponent: {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} keeping Crowe's flopped straight safe to give him the pot.

Crowe currently one of the tournament chip leaders with 885,000.

Norman Chad 'Hanging' Around... ha-HA!

If you loiter around the Amazon Room this time of year, you're sure to bump into Norman Chad making his rounds through the room with his handy yellow pad and pencil. Lynn Gilmartin had one of those run-ins with Chad earlier today, and he took some time out to talk K-Mart, payout inquiries, bad jokes, and, of course, marriage. Check it out:

For more videos from our crew, check out PokerNews TV. Oh, and congrats on your first WSOP cash this year, Norman!

Cover Blown for the Champ

The defending champ Peter Eastgate is starting to get busy at his table but his cover might have just been blown after the following hand.

Eastgate opened with a raise from middle position to 5,500 with one late position caller coming along.

They took a flop of {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Eastgate fired 7,000 which his opponent called. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river brought the {Q-Clubs} to put four clubs on board and again both checked it down.

Eastgate didn't have a club as he tabled an ambitious {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} but it proved to be the best hand as his opponent mucked. Eastgate is up to 220,000.

No End in Seiter

For the second time today, John Seiter got his chips in massively behind and spiked to double himself up.

Seiter: {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {3-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}

Just to make it that little bit unlikelier, another player at the table then announced that he'd folded an ace.

Seiter up to 95,000.

Eastgate Doesn't Like the River

Peter Eastgate made it 6,100 to play from under the gun and got called by both the button and big blind.

Action checked to Eastgate on a flop of {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and he put in a continuation bet of 9,000. The button folded and the big blind came along. Both players checked the {A-Diamonds} on the turn and Eastgate bet 13,000 when action checked to him after the {A-Clubs} landed on the river.

When the big blind check-raised to 40,000, Eastgate looked disgusted with the spot he found himself in and quickly mucked his hand.

Awada No More

"All in and call table 153" was heard as we scurried over to see the action. We found Joe Awada all in after a flop of {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} for his last 31,000.

Awada: {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades} {10-Spades}

"Pair the board" pleaded Awada, the turn fell the {9-Clubs} and the {10-Hearts} on the river would seal his fate. Awada makes a late exit here on Day 3.

Baron Backs Off

Isaac "WestmenloAA" Baron raised to 6,500 from middle position, the player in the cutoff called, then the small blind -- not necessarily on purpose, it seemed -- made a smaller-than-intended raise to 11,200. The big blind folded, and the other two players both called.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The SB and Baron both checked, the cutoff bet 10,000, the SB folded, and Baron called. The turn was the {J-Diamonds}. Baron again checked, his opponent bet 20,000, and Baron called.

The river brought the {10-Spades}, and this time after Baron's check his opponent bet 40,000. Baron let it go.

Baron has 250,000.

An Aussie Adventure

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem
We just picked up on a big hand in progress at the featured table. Jeff Lisandro opened the pot with a raise to 5,500 from early position, and the action came all the way around to Joe Hachem in the blinds. He three-bet it up to 17,000, Lisandro made the call, and it was heads up to the flop.

The dealer rolled out the first three cards, revealing {5-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. Hachem kept the heat on, continuing out with a healthy bet of 32,000. Lisandro moved all in, and Hachem quickly called all in for his own tournament life, pushing his remaining 43,100 chips into the middle.

Showdown
Lisandro: {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}
Hachem: {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}

Hachem was sitting pretty for a double up with top pair, top kicker, and when the turn and river came {J-Diamonds} and {9-Spades}, he did just that. After that exchange, Hachem has climbed up to 190,000, moving Lisandro down around 60,000.

Gabe Starting to Gather

Gabe Walls in action
Gabe Walls in action
Gabe Walls opened to 6,000 from early position, and was met with two callers including Lee Markholt.

The flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} was checked around to see the {5-Spades} fall on the turn.

Walls checked to see a bet of 12,000 follow before Markholt folded. Walls then bumped the action to 26,000 with the lone opponent in the hand making the call.

The river of the {Q-Clubs} was checked by both players to see Walls table {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to take the pot down and move to 687,000 in chips.

Lacay's Laydown

A middle position player made it 6,800 to go from the cutoff position and Ludovic Lacay made the call in the small blind.

They saw a flop of {3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and Lacay checked to his opponent who fired 7,600. Lacay made the call.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Lacay check-called the bet of 18,700, to see the {5-Spades} complete the board. Lacay checked and his opponent fired for the third time with a bet of 32,300. Lacay thought for a few moments before folding {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} face up. A big fold by Lacay but it proved to be the wrong one as his opponent flashed {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for nothing but imagination.

It shouldn't worry Lacay too much as he's still with our chip leaders at 870,000 chips.
