Wright Gets Wronged, Twice

With the board reading {8-Spades} {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts}, Walter Wright checked his option from the small blind. Fabrizio La Spada then bet out 1,500 from the cutoff. Wright min-raised back to 3,000 before La Spada put in another raise to 10,000. Without hesistating, Wright pushed in his remaining stack, only to find a snap call from La Spada.

Showdown:
Wright: {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}
La Spada: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

Drawing almost dead, Wright was able to gather some hope when the {9-Clubs} hit the turn. The river didn't produce his miracle one-outer when the {J-Hearts} came, leaving Wright crippled to 2,025.

A few hands later, Wright moved all in preflop with two red kings. His opponent held two red cards as well, {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. Another sick hand for Wright as the board ran out eight high to eliminate him from the tournament.
