Staking Claims

"You're saying if I fold you'll show me?"

While we have had our usual small percentage of players willing to gamble it up with a starting stack of 300 big blinds, many have shown the ability to resist losing it all with an overpair. Or at least claim as much.

There was about 5,000 in the middle and the flop had come {3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. It had checked to the player on the button who bet 3,000, then his opponent in early position check-raised to 7,500, sending the player on the button into the tank. Finally, after a bit of back-and-forthing, came the offer to show from the check-raiser if his opponent folded.

Eventually the player on the button did fold, and his opponent fulfilled his promise by showing {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The player on the button claimed to have folded queens. And his opponent claimed that was exactly the hand on which he'd put him. We don't claim any assurances regarding the validity of either claim.
