The Wrong Man to Double Up

Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson
Ken Kelly opened with a button raise to 2,000, and Chris Ferguson made the call from the small blind. The flop showed up {Q-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}, and Ferguson led out with an overbet, firing 8,000 chips into the middle of the table. Kelly considered for just a minute before making the smooth call.

On the turn, the {7-Hearts} drew another bet from Ferguson, 17,000 this time. Kelly moved all in, and Ferguson quickly called made the call to put his own tournament life in danger.

Ferguson flipped over {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}, and his opponent had nothing. "I didn't put you on a queen," he said, sheepishly tabling {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. The river was a meaningless {9-Diamonds}, and Jesus earns himself a huge double up. He's sitting on 145,000 now.
