Ford Gets His Chips in Knowing He's Beat

Jon Ford was eliminated from the Main Event in a fashion unusual from most eliminations -- he knew exactly what his opponent had and called anyway.

Ford's opponent opened for 2,000 preflop and called Ford's late-position reraise to 6,700. There was lots of action on the {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} flop. Ford's opponent checked, then check-raised Ford from 8,400 to 20,000. Ford put in the third bet, re-raising to 51,000.

Ford's opponent called and, thinking Ford was all in, opened his hand to show {10-?} {10-?}, top set. Ford actually had 18,000 left behind. Those chips went in when the turn came {9-Hearts} to give Ford an up-and-down straight draw to go with his flush draw. Ford missed everything on the {2-Spades} river and is now out.
