Four Fours Just Enough for Smith

On table 47, there was just an all in between two players, one holding pocket fours and one holding pocket tens. The board ran out uneventfully to hold the pocket tens and eliminate the player with the underpair.

Just seconds later, we heard, "All in and a call on Table 152," which is directly across the isle from the other table. Wandering over there, we see a battle of the blinds with fours and tens again. The small blind had {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and he had raised to open the pot. From the big blind, Kenneth Smith moved all in with {4-Spades} {4-Hearts}, and his opponent quickly made the call with the covering stack.

This time though, the board would run out in more interesting fashion. Right in the door came the {4-Clubs}, and the dealer paused for a beat with just that one card visible before rolling out the flop of {4-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}! The {J-Clubs} on the turn would end the hand, and the {10-Clubs} that hit the river was too little too late for the small blind. With his crucial quad fours, Smith has doubled up to about 40,000.
