Luu Snapped Off

Hieu Luu has been very, very active at his table. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before someone else at the table decided to look him up.

It turns out that other player was Craig Boyd. With 300,000 chips in the pot, Boyd bet 95,000 on the turn of a board that showed {3-Clubs}

. Luu made a large raise of that bet to 420,000. Boyd called to see the river pair queens, {Q-Diamonds}

. He checked, prompting Luu to shove all in.

The effective bet back to Boyd was his whole stack, 993,000. He thought it over for a moment, then called with {A-Spades}

, queens and sevens.

"Good call," said Luu. His {K-Hearts}

was nothing but a stone bluff. That pot gave Boyd 3 million chips while knocking Luu back to 1.3 million.
