Vedes Sends Perner to Dinner in the Dank Position

On the last hand before the dinner break, Tommy Vedes and Bernhard Perner tangled -- as they have several times today -- with Perner taking the worst of it.

We picked up the action on the turn. The board was showing {3-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} and Vedes had made a bet of 177,000. Perner raised that bet to 410,000, a raise that was very quickly called by Vedes.

When the river fell {2-Hearts}, Vedes made a large bet into Perner, for 552,000 total. Perner looked pained and descended deep into the think tank for at least four minutes. He finally called, then slumped his head over the table when Vedes showed {8-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a six-high straight.

Off to dinner they go, with Perner retainng only 140,000 chips.
